There are more and more events and most of them are getting bigger every year. Therefore safety precautions, security, surveillance and crowd management are getting more and more important and have to be managed simultaneously. With the Ampleye | Nox-20 event organizers are supported to get full control on those aspects.
Surveillance- and crowd- managers are both stakeholders of clear images. Multiple surveillance managers are watching over the crowd, detecting disturbances. If a disturbance occurs, surveillance managers will zoom in, to observe the situation and to instruct enforcement personnel. At the same moment crowd management observes several areas in the crowd by counting the number of people and observing the flow of crowd to provide routing information to the audience and guides. Multiple zoom and overview cameras are required if multiple disturbances occur and crowd management has to fulfill their job simultaneously. Traditionally surveillance managers do have a higher priority than crowd management and are able to observe only one disturbance.
A single Ampleye | Nox-20 camera will solve the total needs of surveillance managers and crowd management, with its MVA functionality.
With a single MVA camera you are able to provide multiple video streams all at once of:
- Total overview
- Multiple disturbance detail view
- Multiple crowd access detail view
- Guarding of multiple no access areas, using multiple motion detection units in the camera will only produce a detail video when a violation occurs.
The security of events at night is even more challenging than during the day. The darkness automatically introduces a higher risk of criminal behavior and at the same time considerably reduces the performance of most security cameras.
The Ampleye | Nox-20 was tested during a big Dutch event with a crowd of 100.000 people. The results of this test were outstanding, especially during the night, compared to the traditional solution. Many details where visible in colour and, by using the wide dynamic range, even in the more extreme dark areas small objects were recognizable.
The event images were also used by a people count algorithm supplier. Especially during the night, due to the lower image noise the people count algorithm performed much better and more reliable compared to other cameras.
